About this build

Speed Technical SEO AI Visibility

Delfino Tours runs boat excursions from La Maddalena in Sardinia. The website, gitearcipelago.it, is WordPress with Elementor and WPML across six languages.

The problem

The site was slow where it mattered most — on a phone, which is where people book an excursion. Keywords were not tracked, so there was no way to tell whether any of the content was working. And robots.txt was blocking GPTBot, Google-Extended and CCBot, so the assistants people increasingly ask for recommendations could not read the site at all. An llms.txt existed, but it was out of date.

What was done

Performance work aimed at mobile: the render path, the images, and the scripts that were holding first paint back.

On-page SEO and focus keywords across 48 pages, with 45 keywords set up in rank tracking. Google Search Console and GA4 connected and reporting, and the Search Console indexing report reviewed — the redirects and 404s it surfaced are being worked through as part of the ongoing work. A stray test post removed.

AI crawlers unblocked, and the llms.txt replaced with a current one.

The numbers

Measured with Google PageSpeed Insights on the home page, 29 September 2026.

  • Mobile performance: 57 → 90. First Contentful Paint 1.1s, Largest Contentful Paint 2.1s, Cumulative Layout Shift 0.002.
  • Best Practices: 77 → 100.
  • Desktop performance: 81 → 90.
  • Accessibility 97 and SEO 100, before and after.

Rank tracking only started with this work, so there is nothing honest to say yet about rankings or traffic — that takes about three months to mean anything. The figures above are the ones that can be checked today.

What comes next

The ongoing work: updates and backups, speed kept in the green, the Search Console errors worked through as they appear, and keyword tracking reviewed. Rank tracking started with this project, so after about three months there will be ranking numbers worth publishing — and they will be added here, whatever they say.
